Valley View Specific Plan Park Concept Plans

El Dorado Hills, California

Foothill Associates worked closely with the El Dorado Hills Community Services District (CSD) to develop conceptual plans for three neighborhood parks and a 51-acre community park in the Valley View Specific Plan Area. Foothill prepared conceptual plans, construction cost estimates, and maintenance and operation cost estimates for the parks. Three of the park sites were crossed by seasonal drainages, and development was constrained by steep slopes. The community park plan included a large swim complex and community center, as well as a 10-court tennis complex, large group picnic areas, a dog park, central plaza with water feature, maintenance yard, and botanical gardens. Because of dense trees and steep slopes, North Park was developed as a nature area with an amphitheater, council ring, and walking trails. South Park was developed with typical park amenities, such as play structures, basketball courts, and picnic areas. It also features a perimeter running trail and a large preserved seep. Both North and South parks will serve as important nodes on the adjoining open space trail system. The exact site for Eastridge Park was not yet known; therefore Foothill Associates developed a conceptual plan for a typical small neighborhood park. Color rendered conceptual plans and cost estimates were prepared for each park and presented at the CSD Board meeting.
