Streams in Motion-Volunteer Citizen Monitors

Placer County, California

Foothill Associates, in conjunction with the County of Placer, prepared and facilitated the Stream Monitoring for Volunteer Citizen Monitors in the Pleasant Grove and Curry Creek Watershed Workshop. The workshop consisted of a multi-media presentation, handouts, and a field trip to provide an introduction to watershed assessment and monitoring techniques. Topics focused on basic surface water and water quality regulations, hydrologic cycle and erosion and sedimentation, stream geomorphology, water quality principles, and monitoring procedures. A project website was developed with a calendar, material downloads, and other project related information for the watershed.
