Rio Vista Bridge to Beaches

Rio Vista, California

Foothill Associates graphic specialists and landscape architects designed a variety of materials for the first phase of this planned 4-mile waterfront trail connecting the iconic Rio Vista Bridge with Sandy Beach Park. This phase focused on the existing pathways in downtown and old town Rio Vista. We developed a series of wayfinding signs depicting iconic aspects of Rio Vista including the bridge, kite boarding, bass fishing, and the City’s historic architecture. The signs were placed along the Bridge to Beach trail route. A walking guide introduces visitors to the City, its history, recreational and dining opportunities, and includes a list of things to do and an events calendar. The map on the tour guide points out historical structures, local amenities, and other points of interest. Foothill Associates designed interpretive kiosks for placement at key nodes along the trail. The interpretive signs introduce visitors to the City’s unique history and identity and include recreational, natural and cultural history, regional points of interest, and a vicinity and trail map.
