Lake Vera Pipeline Replacement

Nevada City, California

Foothill Associates prepared an Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND) for the proposed project located in unincorporated Nevada County, near Nevada City for Nevada Irrigation District (NID). An existing 4-inch raw water pipe which currently runs from the Cement Hill Canal would be replaced with a new eight-inch raw water pipeline. The overall length of the new pipeline is approximately 3,841 feet. A Foothill Associates staff biologist and regulatory specialist conducted a field reconnaissance of the proposed project site and also had an archaeological inventory survey completed. Foothill Associates revised the IS/MND based upon NID comments, completed a Notice of Completion, and distributed copies to the State Clearinghouse for public review. The Foothill Associates project manager attended the public meeting for project approval and adoption of the environmental document.  The IS/MND was adopted by NID.
