Gridley Boat Ramp Improvements

Gridley, California

Foothill Associates provided biological services for a 5.45-acre site boat ramp and public river access area along the Feather River. Improvements to the existing boat launching facility included replacement of the boat ramp and modification of existing bank slope protection to prevent structural damage caused by winter high flows.  Improvements also included a paved parking area, plumbed restroom, fish cleaning station, lift station, and a biofiltration swale to drain the parking area to the river.

Biologists wrote a Biological Assessment pursuant to Section 7 of the Federal Endangered Species Act for consultation for valley elderberry longhorn beetle, Central Valley spring-run Chinook salmon, and Southern Distinct Population Segment of North American green sturgeon with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Marine Fisheries Service. ¬†Biologists also conducted a pre-construction survey for nesting birds and raptors prior to construction to ensure compliance with the project’s Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement issued by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
