Four Seasons Trail Corridor and Open Space

El Dorado Hills, California

Foothill Associates designed the master plan for the open space areas, multi-use trails, landscape corridors, and streetscapes for a 140-acre subdivision on Carson Creek in El Dorado Hills.  The main trail corridors follow Carson Creek and include overlooks and rest areas designed to match the community clubhouse. Areas within the Carson Creek floodplain were planted with native trees, grasses, and wildflowers to provide wildlife habitat and reduce erosion. The design process included preparing conceptual plans, preliminary plans and details, and final improvement plans, details, specifications, and cost estimate. The design emphasized the use of native or water conserving plants, solar powered irrigation controllers, and recycled water for all landscape irrigation.
