Folsom South

Folsom, California

Foothill Associates biologists conducted a field survey of this 1,400 acre site in eastern Sacramento to identify dominant plant communities on the site, characterize wildlife habitat, locate sensitive areas, and evaluate the potential for the property to support special-status plant species and special-status herpetofauna. Biologists conducted protocol-level surveys for vernal pool crustaceans, a focused survey for special-status amphibians and reptiles (western pond turtle and western spadefoot toad), as well as a rare plant survey. A wetland delineation was prepared along with a map of wetlands and other waters of the U.S. on the site.

Foothill Associates prepared a Federal Clean Water Act Section 404 Individual Permit Application, Public Notice, and Alternatives Analysis and assisted with the biological resource analyses within the joint Environmental Impact Report (EIR)/ Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). Foothill Associates also coordinated mitigation proposals for jurisdictional aquatic features, vernal pool invertebrates, Swainson’s hawk, and oak woodland habitat.
