El Dorado Canal System Flume Replacement

El Dorado County, California

Foothill Associates provided biological studies in support of El Dorado Irrigation District’s Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for replacement of eight flumes along El Dorado Canal. The canal is located at approximately 4,000 feet elevation and crosses U.S. Forest Service (USFS) parcels. Foothill’s biologists conducted research and a field survey to prepare the Biological Resources Section of the EIR, including maps with locations of sensitive species. Foothill Associates identified potential impacts of the proposed project, mitigation measures, and developed permitting strategies. Resource issues included wetlands and streams, federally listed and state listed special status species, and USFS sensitive species of flora and fauna.
