Danley Road Bridge Replacement at Glenn Valley Slough

Colusa County, California

Foothill Associates provided biological services for the Danley Road Bridge Replacement in Colusa County, California. A Biological Assessment for giant garter snake was prepared in accordance with Section 7 requirements of the Endangered Species Act, and following the Federal Highway Administration’s National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) guidelines. We also prepared a CalTrans Natural Environment Survey (NES) for biological assessment. The site was assessed for its potential impacts to giant garter snake, northwestern pond turtle, nesting habitat for migratory birds including cliff swallows, special-status bat species, jurisdictional waters of the U.S. and waters of the State, and potential spread of invasive species. During construction, biologists surveyed the area for giant garter snake. They also instructed the Worker Environmental Awareness Program to inform construction personnel about giant garter snake and their habitat.

Caltrans NES was prepared for a bridge replacement project in Caltrans District 3.
