Waters of the U.S.

Activities that may affect water quality of waters of the U.S. are regulated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Water Act.  Foothill Associates regulatory staff are experts in provisions of Section 404 and 401 of the Clean Water Act; and in delineating waters of the U.S.  We regularly work with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to obtain Individual Permits, Letters of Permission, and General Permits under Section 404 for fills to waters of the U.S, and with the California Regional Water Quality Control Board to obtain Section 401 permits.


We also prepare Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreements pursuant to California Department of Fish and Wildlife Code for activities that my modify a river, stream, or lake and affect fish and wildlife resources.
