We are currently seeking a biologist with 5-7 years of experience to join the biological resources team in our Rocklin, CA office.

Job Duties: The successful candidate will possess expertise with western flora and fauna with emphasis on northern California species. Possession of a Scientific Collecting Permit and significant experience with California red-legged frog, California tiger salamander, giant garter snake, and vernal pool invertebrates is highly desired. ISA Arborist Certification or Professional Forester Registration is highly desired, but not required. Successful candidates will be highly skilled with environmental regulations including NEPA, CEQA, and ESA, experience with federal and state protected species, and discretionary permitting through ACOE, CDFG and USFWS. Successful candidates must be able to lead resource level investigations and prepare technical sections of environmental documents, mentor staff, manage projects and marketing efforts, and operate in an environment of tight schedules and limited budgets. Periodic travel and field work will be required.

We are currently seeking an experienced GIS Specialist with 2-3 years experience for a part-time position.

Job Duties: Compile, convert, and analyze geographic data to produce map products using ESRI’s ArcGIS in support of biological, regulatory, and planning reports and proposals and marketing materials. Process and integrate GPS data, imagery, and AutoCAD-based information. Maintain and update GIS databases. Produce additional non-cartographic graphics as needed. Perform quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) tasks, generate metadata, as well as document procedures and database organization. Research data options and data availability. Communicate with design and engineering firms to obtain and clarify data.

Qualifications: Degree in geography, landscape architecture, natural resources, or closely related field required. Experience with ArcGIS software in creating and maintaining GIS data, developing maps, and performing analysis is necessary for this position. Field work, AutoCAD, and/or GIS programming experience are desired but not necessary. Candidate should have excellent communication skills, proficiency with core Microsoft Office software programs, independent problem solving and demonstrate a team-oriented approach in their work.
