Anatolia Preserve Monitoring

Rancho Cordova, CA

Foothill Associates performed annual monitoring of the ±482-acre preserve, which includes historic and created vernal pools, to ensure that existing wetland and upland habitats within the preserve continue to function as habitat for plant and wildlife communities. Foothill monitored the hydrology and drainage of a constructed channel and basin, vernal pool hydrology, vernal pool flora and fauna, marsh flora, conditions of the detention basin, erosion potential within the preserve, and residual dry matter study to determine grazing pressure within the preserve uplands. Biologists inspected the perimeter of the preserve for trash, trespass, and vandalism on a bimonthly basis.

Foothill Associates collect water samples and analyzed results of key constituents to determine potential impacts of roads on vernal pool wetlands.
